Alex Robinson is a Southern California-based jazz vocalist, composer, and arranger who captivates audiences with her warm, velvety tone, sharp lyricism, and playful improvisational style. She moves effortlessly between jazz, pop, and soul, bringing new life to the Great American Songbook.
Her debut album, I Really Oughta Tell You, balances elegance, wit, and emotional depth while showcasing her gift for storytelling through song. This collection of beloved and lesser-known standards – plus a cheeky new original and a classic Joni Mitchell song – original and a classic Joni Mitchell song – showcases the many dimensions of Robinson’s artistry, from soft and romantic to vibrant and intense. She is supported by a world-class trio made up of Jeremy Siskind on piano, Marlon Martinez on bass, and Charles Ruggiero on drums, with guest appearances by the album’s producer, trumpeter Tony Guerrero, tenor saxophonist Doug Webb, and trombonist Steven Robinson. I Really Oughta Tell You is slated for release on January 30, 2026.
Alex has graced stages across the United States, and even the open seas as an Entertainer Pianist with Disney Cruise Line. Currently, she can be seen performing around the Greater Los Angeles area with her own project, as a guest artist, and as a choral artist with Tonality and Choral Arts Initiative. Musicians she has shared the stage with include Peter Eldridge, Darmon Meader, Becca Stevens, and Donny McCaslin. Off the stage, Alex’s credits as a session vocalist include BGVs for Carole King, and choral singing on composer Carla Patullo’s GRAMMY award-winning album So She Howls.
In addition to her work as a performer, Alex is a member of the faculty at Mt. San Antonio College and Chapman University. She is a two-time graduate of the University of Miami Frost School of Music.
